November 27, 2022 - The Columbus North boys basketball team played their second and third of four straight road games to start the season this weekend as they traveled to Jennings County on Friday night and to Seymour on Saturday. Friday’s game at Jennings County saw the Panthers use five second half three-point goals and 11-for-12 shooting from the free throw line in the last stanza to hold on for the 61-52 victory. Cooper Horn recorded 19 points in the loss and Ty Ferguson added 12 as the Dogs dropped to 0-2 for the season. North grabbed victories in both of Friday’s early games with the freshmen winning 49-18 (Caleb Ferguson 27 points) and the JV knocking off the Panthers 46-32 (Nolan Pickup 10 points). The Bull Dogs bounced back on Saturday against a very physical Seymour team and recorded a 52-40 victory to improve to 1-2 for the young season. Horn (shown) led the Dogs again with 14 points, while Luke Harmon chipped in 13 to pace the offense. Again, the early games were swept by Columbus North with a 47-23 victory at the freshmen level, improving their season record to 3-1, and a 48-30 by the JV team. Caleb Ferguson led the ninth grade team in scoring with 19 points and Nate Enneking paced the JV squad with 13. The Bull Dogs will complete their stretch of four straight road games to start the season when they travel to Silver Creek on Friday, December 2.
