Bull Dogs roll over Greensburg in sectional semifinals

October 4, 2024 - After a first round bye in the Columbus North boys sectional tournament, the Bull Dogs cruised to a 5-0 victory over Greensburg in the semifinal round. The Bull Dogs will face Hauser in the sectional finals after they defeated Edinburgh in the other semifinal match. Hank Lin wasted no time putting the Bull Dogs on the scoreboard with a 6-0, 6-0 victory at number one singles. Number two singles player Parth Shah followed quickly with a 6-2, 6-0 victory in his match. Vince Sasse and Yoki Murabayashi earned the third and deciding point for North with a 6-3, 7-6(8) victory at number one doubles. Sashu Sabapathy and Michael Crossman dominated the number two doubles match 6-0, 6-0 to put the Dogs up 4-0 as Teddy Littrell closed out the most competitive match of the night at three singles. Littrell dropped the first set 4-6, but battled back to win the last two sets 6-3, 6-3 and complete the sweep. North and Hauser will meet for the sectional championship Friday afternoon at 4:30 pm at the Columbus North tennis courts. North is seeking its thirteenth consecutive sectional title (47th overall). Columbus North currently sits behind Munster (50) for the most sectional boys tennis titles in state history.
