Columbus North sweeps Columbus East in volleyball

October 4, 2024 - Columbus North beat Columbus East in volleyball for the first time since 2017 and did so in dominant fashion on Thursday night in North’s Memorial Gymnasium. The Olympians jumped out to an early lead in the first set, but the rest of the night belonged to the Bull Dogs as North swept East 3-0 (26-24, 25-20, 25-21). Statistical leaders for Columbus North, which, before the match, honored Kennedy Horn, Karen Dutro, Reese Edwards, and Morgan Osborn for statistical milestones reached this season, included: Kills: Horn (14), Sydney Ousley (7), Dutro (6) Assists: Edwards (17), Holly Evans (10) Blocks: Addy Dean (3), Dutro and Horn (2) Service aces: Horn and Evans (2) Digs: Osborn (14), Edwards (13) North also swept both early matches, with the JV winning 25-16, 25-17 and the freshmen winning 25-8, 25-9. North will be road warriors the remainder of the season, including three road matches next week. They’ll next be on the court at Bloomington South on Tuesday, October 8, beginning at 6:00 (JV).
