Dogs win seventh consecutive regional tennis title

October 10, 2024 - Columbus North (19-1) dominated Seymour 5-0 to claim the 30th regional boys tennis title in program history, including the seventh consecutive title. Thirty regional titles ties them with Jasper for the fifth most in IHSAA history. The Bull Dogs will face Indianapolis Cathedral on Saturday in the semi-state round at Center Grove High School. Hank Lin (number one singles) and Parth Shah (number two singles) rolled to 6-0, 6-0 victories to put the Dogs up 2-0 over the Owls. The number two doubles team of Sashu Sabapathy and Michael Crossman closed out the match with a 6-1, 6-2 victory. Teddy Littrell then posted a 6-0, 6-3 victory at number three singles before the number one doubles team of Yoki Murabayashi and Vince Sasse completed the most competitive match of the night with a 6-3, 6-1 victory. Indianapolis Cathedral will advance to the semi-state round with a 5-0 victory over Franklin Central in the North Central regional. The Bull Dogs and Irish will face off at noon on Saturday.
