Cross country teams repeat as sectional champions

October 20, 2024 - The Bull Dogs boys and girls cross country teams each repeated as sectional champions at the Brown County Sectional on Saturday, October 19. The girls sectional crown was the 28th consecutive title for the girls team and 38th overall. Both of these marks are first in IHSAA history. The boys title was the fourth consecutive and 35th overall. The 35th sectional boys crown is second all-time in IHSAA history. Carys Glyn-Jones (shown) won the individual title in 5:49.4, just over four seconds faster than the second-place finisher. The Bull Dogs took seven of the top ten places in the individual girls race as Kyleigh Wolf finished third, Tristan Works fifth, Macy Eaton sixth, Emma Lowther seventh, Ainsley Sherlock ninth, and Adira Sluder tenth to dominate the meet. Neal White (shown) won the boys race by two seconds in 4:57.5 and the Dogs claimed six of the top eleven spots. Jace Works was fifth, Draven Martinez sixth, Denton Sluder eighth, Jonny Klaus tenth, and Justin Reckers eleventh. The girls race will begin at 10:30 am CT (11:30 Eastern) with the boys to follow at 11:15 am CT (12:15 pm Eastern).
