Dogs win Conference Indiana football title with 48-24 victory at Terre Haute South

October 20, 2024 - Bull Dog football completed a perfect 5-0 Conference Indiana season (8-1 overall) with a 48-24 victory at Terre Haute South on Friday evening (October 18). The Bull Dogs led the conference with 211 points scored and 96 points allowed among Conference Indiana games. Overall the Bull Dogs finished the regular season with a 35.8 points per game scoring average and a 14.7 points per game allowed defensive average. North special teams played a big role in the victory over the Braves. A blocked punt was returned for a touchdown, a kickoff was returned for a touchdown, and the Bull Dogs kicked two field goals in the game. North fell behind 14-7 in the first quarter, but rallied and scored 17 points in the second quarter to take a 24-14 halftime advantage en route to the 24-point victory. The Dogs and Braves split the Saturday sub-varsity games with the Bull Dogs winning the JV game 48-0 and the Braves taking the freshman game 8-6. The JV team finished the season with a 7-1 record, and the ninth grade team finished 3-5. North’s varsity team will have a week off to rest and recover physically before hosting Franklin Central on November 1 in the first round of the sectional tournament. The winner will face the winner of the Center Grove versus Jeffersonville sectional semifinal the following Friday.
