Bull Dogs sweep Woodmen in boys basketball

December 12, 2022 - Columbus North boys basketball swept three games from Greenwood on Saturday (Dec 10), including a 62-30 decisive victory in the varsity game. After an 11-8 Bull Dogs lead after one quarter, North finished the half on a 13-0 run and outscored Greenwood 19-8 in the third quarter en route to a blowout victory. The Dogs have now won four straight games after beginning the season with two road losses. Cooper Horn led all scorers with 24 points against Greenwood. Luke Harmon had nine and Ty Ferguson added eight for the Dogs. The JV team remained unbeaten (6-0) after a 40-37 double-overtime victory over the Woodmen. Garrett Long and Jackson Newman each had eight points to pace the Bull Dogs. In the freshman game, Caleb Ferguson paced North with twelve points as the Dogs routed Greenwood 49-14, improving to 6-1 for the season. Next up for the Dogs will be a home matchup with Columbus East on Friday, December 16. During halftime of the varsity game, Columbus North will recognize former athletic trainer Ashley Martin as well as a host of fall sports athletes and teams.
