Bull Dogs fall to Bloomington South in girls swimming season opener

November 21, 2024 - The Bull Dog girls swim team got their season started with a home dual meet against Bloomington South on Wednesday evening at the Chick Newell Natatorium at Columbus North. The Panthers outscored the Bull Dogs 124-34, but head coach Mike Cunningham was pleased with the effort and performances of his team. Top finishers in each event for Columbus North included the following: 200 yd Medley Relay: 2nd (Mridula Muthukumaran, Cora Tregoning, Sanaa Kulkarni, Brooklyn Pendleton) 2:00.54 200 yd Freestyle: 4th (Max Andrews) 2:20.22 200 yd IM: 2nd (Muthukumaran) 2:19.04 50 yd Freestyle: 3rd (Pendleton) 27.33 1m Diving: 4th (Kristin Waite) 119.80 100 yd Butterfly: 1st (Muthukumaran) 1:03.45 100 yd Freestyle: 3rd (Kanav Mehta) 1:03.08 500 yd Freestyle: 3rd (Tregoning) 6:01.17 200 yd Freestyle Relay: 2nd (Muthukumaran, Tregoning, Pendleton, Kulkarni) 1:49.34 100 yd Backstroke: 4th (Mehta) 1:10.89 100 yd Breaststroke: 4th (Tregoning) 1:19.97 400 yd Freestyle Relay: 4th (Adyasha Panda, Andrews, Nicole Brault, Advice Badve) 4:35.84 Both the girls and boys teams will travel to Franklin Community on Tuesday, November 26. The meet is scheduled to begin at 5:30 pm. Photo: Mridula Muthukumaran won the 100 yard Butterfly, was second in the 200 yard Individual Medley, and was part of the 2nd place 200 yard Medley Relay, and the 2nd place 200 yard Freestyle Relay against Bloomington South on Wednesday (November 20).
