December 15, 2022 - Head coach Matt Joyce’s Columbus North wrestlers held a 19-18 advantage over cross-town rivals Columbus East at the Orange Pit last night, but a flurry of late-match pins by Columbus East closed out a 48-19 victory for the Olympians. North got victories from Justice Thornton (132 pounds), Asher Ratliff (145), Josiah Green (152), Liam Phillips (160), and Keller DeSpain (170), but were unable to overcome Columbus East’s depth and timely pins. The Bull Dog grapplers (8-5) will be back on the mat on Saturday, December 17 when they travel to East Central to compete in their invite, beginning at 9:00 am. The JV wrestlers will be at Columbus East on the same day for the Columbus East Open. Photo: Liam Phillips scored a victory at 152 pounds against Columbus East, but the team fell to the Olympians 48-19.
