November 27, 2024 - Heritage Christian boys basketball led Columbus North 46-31 after three quarters of varsity basketball on Tuesday evening, but hot perimeter shooting in the fourth quarter and an increase in defensive pressure let the Dogs climb back into the game and eventually prevail 63-60. The Dogs scored 32 points in the fourth quarter alone, including five three-point goals to steal a victory and complete the sweep of Heritage Christian. The JV team began the season 1-0 after a 50-43 victory in one of the early games. The freshmen stayed undefeated (2-0) after a 40-27 victory in the other pre-varsity matchup. Caleb Ferguson led the Dogs with 16 points, eight of which came in the decisive fourth quarter. Nate Enneking had 13 points, and Max Coomes (shown) nailed four three-point goals in the fourth quarter to record twelve points. The Bull Dogs were 13-for-16 from the free throw line for the game. Next up for the Bull Dogs will be a trip down I65 to visit the Seymour Owls on Saturday, November 30. JV and Freshman games are scheduled to begin at 6:00 with varsity to follow the JV.
