December 2, 2024 - In the first game of the season, Columbus North mounted a huge fourth quarter comeback to steal a victory from Heritage Christian. At Seymour on Saturday night, the Dogs were nearly on the receiving end of a similar comeback, but managed to hold on for a 46-41 victory. The Dogs led by double digits for most of the second half, but the Owls made a late run to cut the North lead to just three points. However, the Dogs made enough free throws down the stretch to escape with a five-point victory and improve to 2-0 for the season. Austin Perry led North with 14 points, while Max Coomes and Caleb Ferguson added ten and nine, respectively. The Dogs were 7-for-10 in the deciding fourth quarter from the free throw line. The JV team was ice cold from the field in the first half, but rallied in the second half to lose by only three points, 38-35. The freshmen improved to 3-0 with a 38-16 victory in the other early matchup. North will travel to Silver Creek for a JV/Varsity doubleheader on Friday, December 6. Tipoff is scheduled for 6:00 pm.
