December 17, 2022 - The Bull Dogs may have started slowly, but they certainly finished with a bang as they routed cross-town rival Columbus East in boys basketball 68-28 to wrap up Winter Rivalry Week in Memorial Gym on Friday (December 16). The Olympians held an 8-7 lead, but the Dogs settled in and outscored East 47-14 over the next two quarters to blow the game open. Cooper Horn led four Bull Dogs in double-figure scoring with 18 points. Ty Ferguson added 14, Drew Schiefer posted twelve, and Damon Edwards chipped in ten for North who has won five straight games after dropping their first two of the season. Similarly, the ninth grade team won their seventh straight game after dropping their season-opening game at Bloomington North, beating East 51-41. Caleb Ferguson scored a team-high 17 points to lead the Bull Dogs. Zach Fedor poured in eleven and Mason Acton eight in the victory. The JV team stayed undefeated for the season (7-0) with a 56-31 victory to complete the sweep over the Olympians. Jackson Newman and Max Coomes each tallied ten points in the Bull Dog victory. The Bull Dogs will need to put these victories behind them quickly as they travel to Scottsburg for the first time since 1985 this evening (Saturday, December 17) for a showdown with a very talented Warriors squad. JV will begin at 6:00, with varsity to follow. The game will be held at Meyer Gym (375 East McClain Ave).
