Forfeited weight classes doom Dogs against Perry Meridian

December 6, 2024 - Columbus North was forced to forfeit three weight classes against Perry Meridian, putting the Dogs in an 18-point deficit to begin the match. Once the wrestling began, the Bull Dogs outscored the Falcons 27-26. However, the extra 18 points gave Perry Meridian a 44-27 victory, leaving the Dogs 0-2 for the season. Individual match results were as follows: 106: Forfeit 113: James Brown L (Fall) 120: Nolan Riley L (Tech Fall) 126: Forfeit 138: Forfeit 144: Cohen Long W (Tech Fall) 150: Luke Spurgeon W (Maj Dec) 157: Asher Ratliff W (Fall) 165: Jackson Haston W (Fall) 175: Eric Streeval W (Dec) 190: Evan Saevre L (Fall) 215: Jonathan Morales W (Dec) 285: Keyshon Osborne L (Dec) Photo: Asher Ratliff upends his opponent in the 157 pound match against Perry Meridian. Ratliff won his match by fall, but the Bull Dogs were unable to overcome three forfeited matches and lost the team match 44-27.
