Bull Dogs ride a flurry of pins to 53-23 victory over Seymour

January 4, 2023 - Columbus North trailed Seymour 16-6 after four matches, but the Bull Dogs dominated the remainder of the dual meet against the Owls, riding a stretch of seven pins and a technical fall through the middle weight classes. The Dogs used pins from Bryce Hawkins (126 pounds), Justice Thornton (132), Jason Shuey (138), Asher Ratliff (145), Josiah Green (152), Evan Saevre (170), and Jose Ramirez (182) and a 16-0 technical fall from Liam Phillips (160) to beat the host Owls 53-23. The Dogs also received a forfeit victory at 285 (Cody Thurnall) to complete the scoring. The JV team will next wrestle on Saturday, January 7 at the Old Capital City Classic, and both squads will face Jennings County in a home dual meet on Tuesday, January 10. North won the meet 53-23 and improves to 13-6 for the season.
