Dogs sixth in New Albany Holiday Invitational

December 31, 2024 - Columbus North had only three wrestlers entered, but those three wrestled well enough to earn a sixth-place finish at the 16-team New Albany Girls Wrestling Holiday Invitational on Tuesday (December 31) with 39.5 points. Jasper ran away with the team title with 128.5 points. Vika Konovalenko continued her outstanding season (now 16-4) with a first place finish in the 120 pound weight class, winning all five of her matches by technical fall. Konovalenko was named the invitational’s most outstanding wrestler. Aubreigh Campbell finished the day with a 3-1 record to earned a third place finish in the 155 pound weight class. All three of her victories were by fall. Fatima Aguilar Castillo rounded out the Bull Dog scoring with a fourth place finish in the 235 pound weight class. The girls will compete at the West Washington IHSAA Sectional tournament on Friday, January 3.
