Muthukumaran claims two Conference Indiana swim titles as Dogs take third

January 13, 2025 - Sophomore Mridula Muthukumaran (shown) won the 200 yard individual medley as well as the 100 yard butterfly as Columbus North claimed third place in both the boys and girls divisions of the Conference Indiana Swimming and Diving Championships in Terre Haute on Saturday, January 11. Bloomington South won both the boys (542 points) and girls (545 points) divisions, with Bloomington North taking second. The Bull Dogs boys scored 308 to secure third place and the girls finished with 336 points to earn their third place finish. Top finishers in the girls division for the Bull Dogs included 200 yard medley relay - Muthukumaran, Cora Tregoning, Sanaa Kulkarni, Brooklyn Pendleton - 3rd 200 yard freestyle - Max Andrews - 7th 200 yard individual medley - Muthukumaran - 1st 50 yard freestyle - Pendleton - 4th 1m Diving - Kristin Waite - 8th 100 yard butterfly - Muthukumaran - 1st 100 yard freestyle - Nandini Kondhare - 9th 500 yard freestyle - Tregoning - 5th 200 yard freestyle relay - Muthukumaran, Pendleton, Kulkarni, Advika Badve - 2nd 100 yard backstroke - Kanav Mehta - 8th 100 yard breaststroke - Tregoning - 11th 400 yard freestyle relay - Pendleton, Kondhare, Mehta, Tregoning - 5th Top finishers for the Columbus North boys included 200 yard medley relay - Aarhus Mahato, Nicolas Bowers, Diego Cotero Tapia, Eli McIntier - 3rd 200 yard freestyle - Cotero Tapia - 4th 200 yard individual medley - Mahato - 7th 50 yard freestyle - Bowers - 7th 1m Diving - Dagan Kleffman - 2nd 100 yard butterfly - Cotero Tapia - 3rd 100 yard freestyle - Luis Valerdi - 9th 500 yard freestyle - Hudson Clock - 8th 200 yard freestyle relay - Cotero Tapia, Mahato, McIntier, Bowers - 3rd 100 yard backstroke - Clock - 7th 100 yard breaststroke - Bowers - 8th 400 yard freestyle relay - McIntier, Valerid, Isaac Niewedde, Clock - 3rd Columbus North will host Heritage Christian on Thursday, January 16. The meet is scheduled to begin at 5:30 pm.
