January 18, 2023 - A three point deficit and a slim three point advantage for the Bull Dogs were quickly forgotten after a 21-4 advantage in the third quarter helped blow open a tight boys basketball game against Roncalli, leading the Dogs to a 57-45 victory. If the third quarter belonged to the Bull Dogs, the fourth quarter was all Luke Harmon. Harmon scored a career high 23 points, including all twelve Bull Dog points in the fourth quarter, and scored North’s last 15 points of the game. Teammate Cooper Horn scored 16 points, twelve in the first half, leaving him just 35 points short of 1000 points for his career. The Bull Dogs (10-5) were 12-for-14 from the free throw line for the game and connected on seven three-point goals in the victory. The JV Bull Dogs improved to 11-1 for the season with a 45-37 victory in the early contest. Max Coomes had twelve points to lead North and Jackson Newman added eight. There was no freshman game. All three Columbus North teams will be on the road for afternoon games at Perry Meridian on Saturday, January 21. The JV and freshman teams will play at 3:00 pm, with the varsity to follow around 4:30 pm.
