North swim/dive teams sweep Jennings County

January 17, 2023 - Columbus North won 16 of the 24 events at Jennings County, resulting in a 117-65 girls division victory and a 126.5-48.5 victory in the boys division of the swimming and diving dual between the Panthers and the Bull Dogs. North’s event victories in the girls division included th 200 yd medley relay (Katie Frazier, Ainsley Sherlock, Brooklyn Pendleton, Karissa Bevis), Sherlock in the 100 yd butterfly and 100 yd breaststroke, Cora Tregoning in the 500 yd freestyle, the 200 yd freestyle relay (Sherlock, Georgia Abdallah, Kara Buntin, Bevis), Frazier in the 100 yd backstroke, and the 400 yd freestyle relay (Abdallah, Bevis, Pendleton, Frazier). Columbus North also won the following events in the boys division: 200 yd medley relay (Pratt Badve, Cole Ehara, Brock Smith, Jude Abdallah), Abdallah in the 200 yd freestyle and 100 yd breaststroke, Ehara in the 200 yd individual medley and 100 yd butterfly, Robert Cantu in 1-meter diving, the 200 yd freestyle relay (Isaac Proffitt, Abdallah, Badve, and Maclain Clock), Clock i the 100 yd backstroke, and the 400 yd freestyle relay (Ehara, Proffitt, David Zhang, Clock). Both swimming and diving teams will have a little time off to prepare for the IHSAA Sectionals. The girls will begin Sectionals on February 2 and the boys on February 16.
