February 2, 2025 - Trailing by twelve with under three minutes to play, Columbus North boys basketball rallied to beat Whiteland 64-63 on Saturday evening. Trailing 63-62, Braylon Thoman was fouled on a three-point attempt with just under two seconds remaining in the game. Thoman knocked down two of the three free throws to tie and take the final lead. Austin Perry and Caleb Ferguson each had 18 points and Max Coomes added twelve in the victory, pushing North’s record to 12-3 for the season. For the second consecutive night, the JV team was forced to a double overtime game, but unlike Friday night against Southport, the Bull Dogs came away with the victory 59-56. Zach Fedor had 14 and Mason Acton 13 for North. The freshmen team fell 55-25 in the other early matchup. The freshmen Bull Dogs will travel to Bloomington South on Monday for a Conference Indiana matchup before all three teams will host Connersville on Thursday evening.
