Dogs claim big Conference Indiana victory at Bloomington South

February 15, 2025 - Columbus North boys basketball claimed their eighth straight victory with a 54-51 road victory at Bloomington South on Friday evening, pushing their season record to 15-3 (3-1 in Conference Indiana play). A rough second quarter saw the Bull Dogs fall into a five point deficit at halftime, but the Dogs were able to right the ship and trail by just two points after three quarters. Timely shots, rebounds, free throws in the fourth quarter gave North the key conference victory. Max Coomes led North with 15 points, Caleb Ferguson had eleven, and Garrett Long added nine in another balanced offensive attack by the Bull Dogs. Coomes’ had four of North’s seven made three-point goals, and Long’s nine points included a pair of first half dunks that electrified the Bull Dog fans. The JV team improved to 12-6 with a 63-62 victory in the early game. Zach Fedor had 20 points, including five three-point goals in the first half, and Mason Acton added 15 points as the young Dogs won their fourth consecutive game.
