February 5, 2023 - The Columbus North girls swim and dive team finished fourth at the 13-team Columbus North Sectional on Saturday (February 4), scoring 226 points. Bloomington South (475), Bloomington North (384), and East Central (302) took the top three team spots. Columbus North finished just ahead of Columbus East (207) and well clear of fifth place Milan (137). Although none of North's swimmers or divers qualified for the State Finals, the top Columbus North finishers in each event included: 200 yard medley relay (Katie Frazier, Ainsley Sherlock, Brooklyn Pendleton, and Karissa Bevis) - 4th place 200 yard individual medley (Sherlock) - 5th place 50 yard freestyle (Bevis) - 5th place 1 meter diving (Lydia Putney) - 8th place 100 yard butterfly (Pendleton) - 12th place 100 yard freestyle (Bevis) - 5th place 500 yard freestyle (Frazier) - 10th place 200 yard freestyle relay (Emma Glyn-Jones, Georgia Abdallah, Kara Buntin, Pendleton) - 4th place 100 yard backstroke (Buntin) - 12th place 100 yard breaststroke (Sherlock) - 4th place 400 yard freestyle relay (Bevis, Abdallah, Frazier, Sherlock) - 3rd place Photo: Ainsley Sherlock collected a fourth and fifth place finish in individual events and was part of relays that finished fourth and third at the Columbus North girls swim and dive Sectional on Saturday (February 4).
