Wrestlers second place in Jeffersonville Regional. Top finish since 2008.

February 5, 2023 - Columbus North advanced ten wrestlers to the February 11 Evansville Semi State meet with a second-place team finish (141 points) at the Jeffersonville Regional on Saturday, February 4. The runner-up finish to Columbus East (158) and ahead of third-place Jeffersonville (83.5) in the 14-team Regional is the best Regional finish for Columbus North since 2008.. Justice Thornton (37-1) won the 132 pound title to secure his second consecutive Regional title. Other Bull Dog wrestlers who advanced to the Semi State due to their fourth-place (or higher) finish included: Nolan Riley (18-17) - 4th place at 106 pounds Jason Shuey (29-9) - 2nd place at 138 pounds Asher Ratliff (31-7) - 2nd place at 145 pounds Josiah Green (30-13) - 3rd place at 152 pounds Liam Phillips (33-5) - 2nd place at 160 pounds Evan Saevre (13-10) - 2nd place at 170 pounds Keller DeSpain (22-8) - 3rd place at 182 pounds Jose Ramirez (26-9) - 2nd place at 195 pounds Cody Thurnall (22-16) - 4th place at 285 pounds Photo: Justice Thornton won his second consecutive Regional title, this time at 132 pounds to advance to the Evansville Semi State meet next weekend.
