Tennis coach Kendall Hammel inducted into IHSTeCA Hall of Fame

February 6, 2023 - Head boys and girls tennis coach Kendall Hammel was inducted into the Indiana High School Tennis Coaches Association Hall of Fame in a ceremony held on February 3. Hammel is in his 28th season as head coach at Columbus North and has compiled a career dual match record of 886-343. Eleven of his teams have reached the State Finals, along with eight individual and seven doubles teams in the State Finals. Hammel has been named Conference Indiana Coach of the Year 16 times, District Coach of the Year nine times, and State Coach of the Year twice (2006 for boys and 2010 for girls). Hammel is the Head Professional at Tipton Lakes Athletic Club and has been a US Professional Tennis Association instructor for over 40 years. He played varsity tennis at Huntington North High School and Anderson University. Columbus North congratulates coach Kendal Hammel and wife Cindy for this well-deserved induction.
