Bull Dog track and field competes at second Bloomington North Indoor

March 13, 2025 - For the second time in a week, the Columbus North track and field team traveled to IU to compete in another HSR qualifying event, and two Bull Dogs registered program-best performances. Joseph Day set the new program freshman record in the 3200m run. His 9:46.43 finish was good enough for fourth place in the varsity event. Classmate Emma Haston tied the program’s freshman record with a high jump of 5-3, earning third in the event. Top finishers for North in the meet included (in the girls division): 60m dash: Sierra Newell 17th 1600m: Rebecca Simon 10th 3200m: Kodi Smith 7th 60m hurdles: Lily Miller 6th 4x200m relay (Avery Johnson, Lexi Denny, Lily Miller, Kallie McCain) 5th 4x400m relay (Johnson, Denny, Grace Bethuram, Hazel Sasse) 7th 4x800m relay (Andi Carothers, Brooklyn Donner, Lucy Nevins, Wendy Zhong) 11th Distance Medley relay (Nevens, Reece Peeples, Emma Glyn-Jones, Ellie Frazier) 11th High Jump: Haston 3rd Pole Vault: Newell 6th Long Jump: Newell 8th Shot Put: Gabby Revell 2nd Top Bull Dog finishers in the boys division included: 60m dash: Trenton Turner 31st 1600m: Garrett Perfetto 9th 3200m: Day 4th 60m hurdles: Sam Brown 20th 4x200m relay (Josiah Davis, Matt Burge, Ben Stevens, Owen Russell) 13th 4x400m relay (Russell, Davis, Burge, Stevens) 12th 4x800m relay (Leyton Hottell, Jackson Schneider, Rohan Norris, Noah Weidman) 9th Distance Medley relay (James Stofel, Liam Glyn-Jones, Weidman, Hottell) 11th High Jump: Tucker Tower 9th Pole Vault: (None) Long Jump: Turner 12th Shot Put: Bryce Harriman 11th North will compete in one final qualifying event at UIndy on Friday, March 14. The top 24 relay teams and individual performances from all spring qualifying events will earn berths in the Hoosier State Relays on March 29.
