April 8, 2025 - Bull Dog baseball is hoping for some warmer weather and some hotter bats after a 10-5 loss at Roncalli on a blustery Monday night at Roncalli. North managed only five hits and struck out twelve times, falling to 1-1 for the season. Freshman Jack Whaley hit his second home run in as many games and accounted for four of the five RBI, going 2-for-3 from the plate. Macario Mendez hit his first career home run, a solo shot in the top of the seventh, but the Dogs just couldn’t overcome a seven-run deficit after three innings. Jayce Emmitt got the start on the mound for the Bull Dogs, tossing two innings, giving up seven runs (five earned) on three hits and three walks. Dillon Long came on in relief in the third inning and allowed three runs (one earned) on three hits, walking one. Senior Joey Fry pitched the final inning and didn’t allow a hit or a run, while striking out two. The Bull Dogs will continue a busy week with a road trip to East Central this evening (April 8). This will be a varsity-only contest, beginning at 6:00 pm, as the JV game was canceled due to field conditions.
