April 9, 2025 - Trailing second-ranked Roncalli 6-0 after five innings, Columbus North rallied for seven runs in the final two innings. However, the Royals answered with three runs in the bottom half of the sixth inning to slip past the Bull Dogs 9-7. Bailee Scruggs threw the first five innings for the Bull Dogs, allowing six runs (three earned) with six strikeouts and just one walk. Payton Morris pitched the sixth inning and allowed three earned runs on three hits. The Dogs got two hits each from Morris, Scruggs, and Miley McClellan. Morris and Scruggs each homered for North. The Bull Dogs will host East Central Wednesday evening in a makeup game that has been postponed twice due to weather and field conditions. First pitch for the varsity game is scheduled for 6:00 pm, with a four-inning JV game to follow the varsity game.
