April 10, 2025 - For the second consecutive night, the Columbus North baseball team had to rally to secure a non-conference victory, this time 4-3 over Jeffersonville. Three Bull Dog errors help the Red Devils build a 3-1 lead heading to the bottom of the fifth inning. Following a bases loaded walk by Macario Mendez, Dillon Long singled with two outs in the fifth inning to score Jayce Emmitt and Jackson Newman, giving the Bull Dogs a 4-3 advantage. Javier Uscanga got the start on the mound for the Bull Dogs, throwing four innings and allowing just one hit and three unearned runs while walking two and striking out six. Jayden Adorno pitched three innings in relief and also allowed only one hit and no walks while striking out five. Lane Schrader, Sam Perry, Jack Whaley, Emmitt, Mendez, Long, and Jesse Clark all had one hit for the Bull Dogs. The JV team used a walk-off double by Isaac Genth to beat Shelbyville 3-2 in the other game at Southside on Wednesday night. The Bull Dogs (3-1) will travel to Bloomington North for a Conference Indiana matchup on Thursday night (April 10). The JV teams will square off at Southside Elementary. Both contests are scheduled to begin at 6:00.
