Track and field teams compete in a pair of dual meets to begin their outdoor season

April 11, 2025 - Columbus North boys and girls track and field competed at a non-scored dual meet at Bloomington South on Tuesday afternoon to kick off their outdoor season. On Thursday, both teams traveled to Jeffersonville for a dual meet with the boys winning 65-51 and girls prevailing 94-24. Event winners at Bloomington South for Columbus North included: Boys 800m: Jace Works Boys 1600m: Works Boys 110m hurdles: Owen Russell Girls 400m: Reece Peeples Girls 800m: Carys Glyn-Jones Girls 100m hurdles: Emerson Chambers Girls 300m hurdles: Natalie Rohm Girls High Jump: Emma Haston Girls Pole Vault: Sierra Newell Event winners at Jeffersonville for Columbus North included: Girls 4x800m relay: Katie Frazier, Kodi Smith, Rendy Zhong, Ainsley Sherlock Boys 4.800m relay: Liam Glyn-Jones, Noah Weidman, Leyton Hottell, Evan Bense Girls 1600m: Smith Boys 1600m: Logan Vanzant Girls 4x100m relay: Lilly Ryan, Lillian Shaffstal, Zoie Paswater, Hannah Sears Girls 400m: Vivian Pumphrey Boys 400m: Aiden Hayes Girls 300m hurdles: Lexi Denny Girls 800m: Reece Peeples Boys 800m: Bense Girls 3200m: Zhong Boys 3200m: Sam Steinmetz Girls 4x400m relay: Pumphrey, Paswater, Lexi Nicholls, Peeples Boys 4x400m relay Columbus North will host the annual Columbus North Invitational beginning at 10:00 am Saturday, April 12. Photo: Freshman Emma Haston won the girls high jump with a jump of 5’3” at Bloomington South on Tuesday. Haston made three attempts to break the school at 5’6”, but failed on all three attempts.
