April 11, 2025 - One of the difficult lessons a new program has to learn is how to close out victories. The boys volleyball team learned that the hard way after jumping out to a 2-0 set lead over Jeffersonville on Thursday evening before losing the final three sets to drop the match and fall to 4-9 on the season. The Dogs won each of the first two sets 25-22, but Jeffersonville found new energy and momentum at the beginning of the third set. The Red Devils claimed the third set 25-18 and the fourth set 25-19 before closing out the match with a 15-10 advantage in the fifth and tie-breaking set. The JV team had a similar result, winning the first set, but dropping the final two, as they fell to 3-5 for the season. In the varsity match, Leo Iorio was once again a statistical leader, topping the Bull Dogs in kills (22) and digs (21). Noah Dornfeld had four blocks, Kota Kondo had 43 assists and two service aces, and Yuta Kondo had a pair of service aces for the Bull Dogs. North will travel to Lawrence North on Saturday, April 12 to participate in an invitational that begins at 9:00 am. Photo: JJ Salcedo skies for a kill against Jeffersonville on Thursday night.
