Dogs finish fifth in talent-filled Columbus North Track and Field Invitational

April 13, 2025 - The ten-team Columbus North Invitational on Saturday, April 12 brought together a number of the top track and field programs from around the state, including Center Grove, Bloomington North, Bloomington South, and Columbus North. The Bull Dog boys and girls teams each finished fifth in the loaded field. Each team was allowed to enter two athletes into each individual event and one team into each relay. Bloomington North finished first in the boys division with 180 points, followed by Center Grove (94), Bloomington South (86), Floyd Central (69), Columbus North (57.5), Terre Haute South (56.5), Whiteland (55.5), Silver Creek (15.5), and Columbus East (10). In the girls division, Bloomington South took the team title (131), followed by Whiteland (117.5), Center Grove (104), Floyd Central (72.5), Columbus North (71.5), Terre Haute South (43), Bloomington North (38), Silver Creek (30.5), Columbus East (15), and Brown County (1). Top Bull Dog finishers in the boys division included 100m: Matt Burge 9th 110m hurdles: Owen Russell 7th 200m: Ben Stevens 8th 300m hurdles: Russell 5th 400m: Stevens 6th 800m: Jace Works 3rd 1600m: Neal White 4th 3200m: Denton Sluder 1st Discus: Santi DeLuna 9th High Jump: Tucker Tower 8th Long Jump: Tower 6th Shot Put: Bryce Harriman 10th 4x100m relay: 6th 4x400m relay: 4th 4x800m relay: 3rd Top finishers for North in the girls division included 100m: Avery Johnson 14th 100m hurdles: Emerson Chambers 1st 200m: Chambers 9th 300m hurdles: Natalie Rohm 9th 400m: Hazel Sasse 6th 800m: Carys Glyn-Jones 4th 1600m: Tristan Works 4th 3200m: Adira Sluder 4th Discus: Gabby Russell 4th High Jump: Emma Haston 4th Long Jump: Sierra Newell 9th Pole Vault: Newell 4th Shot Put: Sydni Schiefer 7th 4x100m relay: 4th 4x400m relay: 2nd 4x800m relay: 2nd North will participate in a triangular with Seymour and Brown County at Seymour on Tuesday, April 15 before Friday’s Franklin Central Distance Showcase.
