Errors prove costly as Dogs drop third straight

April 16, 2025 - Four defensive errors for the Bull Dogs led to five unearned runs by Batesville as North fell 9-5 and dropped to 3-4 for the season. Jayce Emmitt got the start on the mound for the Dogs and threw 2-⅔ innings, giving up six run (but only two earned) on three hits. He struck out one and walked one. Javier Uscanga came on in the third inning and gave up no runs on two hits. Uscanga walked one and struck out two in 1-⅓ innings of work. Joey Fry tossed the final two innings, giving up three runs (two earned) on three hits. He struck out three and walked one in his outing. Brock Kintner had a pair of hits and an RBI for the Bull Dogs, who were only able to muster six hits for the game. Jesse Clark had a pair of RBI for North. The JV team traveled to Hauser and earned a 13-2 victory over the Jets on Tuesday night as well. The varsity team will travel to Kokomo on Saturday for a pair of games, while the JV will host a doubleheader with Carmel.
