Track and field gets indoor season started at Bloomington North Indoor

March 2, 2023 - As the winter sports season is winding down with post-season tournaments, the spring season has already begun as track and field teams around the state are participating in a month of indoor events. The Columbus North boys and girls track teams began their seasons on Tuesday with a trip to IU’s Gladstein Fieldhouse to compete at the Bloomington North HSR Qualifier. Results from throughout the indoor season will be compiled to allow athletes to qualify for the March 25 Hoosier State Relays. Top final heat finishers for the Columbus North girls included: 3200m Run: Sydney Morlock (3rd) 4x800m Relay: (3rd) 4x200m Relay: (10th) 1600m Run: Kenzie Pendleton (4th) Distance Medley Relay: (1st) 4x400m Relay: (4th) High Jump: Lana Wisler (4th) Pole Vault: Sierra Newell (t-5th) Long Jump: Milahya Anderson (14th) Shot Put: Moana Steele (6th), Abbi Schiefer (7th) Top final heat finishers for the boys included: 3200m Run: Adler Larson (4th), Evan Bense (9th) 60m Hurdles: Liam Milne (3rd), Owen Russell (8th) 4x800m Relay: (3rd) 4x200m Relay: (5th) 1600m Run: Leyton Hottell (4th), Denton Sluder (6th) Distance Medley Relay: (1st) 4x400m Relay (3rd) High Jump: Morgan Knapp (t-2nd), Nathan Palmer (t-2nd) Pole Vault: Liam Phillips (2nd), Sam Mormino (t-4th) Long Jump: Jamaine Flemming (10th), Trenton Turner (13th) Shot Put: Kok Kao Yee (13th), Bryce Herriman (14th) Both boys and girls indoor track and field teams will compete in the Whiteland Indoor HSR Qualifier held at UIndy on Friday, March 3.
