Dogs bounce back with sweep of Bloomington South

May 7, 2025 - After a rare 0-3 weekend, the girls tennis team traveled to Bloomington South on Tuesday afternoon and came home with a 5-0 sweep of the Panthers. Aya Saad got the match started with a 6-3, 6-0 victory at one singles, followed by Lucy Bergman’s 6-1, 6-2 victory at two singles. Grace Conner and Lizzie Bodart put the Dogs up 3-0 with a 6-2, 6-2 decision at two doubles. Nino Akhalaya and Molly Richards dropped their first one doubles set 1-6, but rallied with 6-3, 6-4 victories in the final two sets to win their match. Ayane Umemura closed out the Bull Dog sweep with a 6-4, 6-3 victory in her three singles match. North (7-3) will host Floyd Central on Thursday, May 8 at 5:00 pm.
