North loses heartbreaker on Senior Night

May 7, 2025 - Three defensive errors and a number of baserunning blunders proved costly as the Bull Dogs dropped a 6-5 decision to Silver Creek in varsity baseball on Tuesday night (May 6). Five seniors, Jackson Newman, Jayce Emmitt, Lane Schrader, Joey Fry, and manager Keagan Goodier were recognized prior to the first pitch. The Bull Dogs found themselves in a 5-0 deficit in the middle of the fourth inning before rallying for five unanswered runs to climb to a 5-5 tie heading to the final inning. The Dragons scored one in the top of the seventh and the Dogs were unable to answer in their half of the final stanza. Jack Whaley and Brock Kintner each had two hits for the Bull Dogs, who fell to 7-9 for the season. Schrader started on the mound for the Bull Dogs, lasting 2-⅓ innings, allowing four runs (all unearned) on three hits while walking three and striking out one. Graham Bayne threw the next 1-⅓ innings, allowing one unearned run on no hits. He struck out one and walked one. Bryson Satterfield threw three innings, allowing one unearned run on four hits, before handing the ball to Javier Uscanga, who closed out the remainder of the final inning. The JV (White) team fell to Hauser’s JV team 14-4 in the other game of the night. The White squad is now 0-5 on the season.
