School records fall at Hoosier State Relays

March 27, 2023 - The Columbus North boys and girls track and field teams crowned State Indoor Champions in two events at this weekend’s Hoosier State Relays in Bloomington. Senior Julia Kiesler (shown in photo) finished her 3200m race in school record time 10:27.15, which was ten seconds ahead of the runner-up finisher. The boys Distance Medley Relay team of Clayton Guthrie, Nathan Imlay, Mateo Mendez, and Will Russell also set a new school record of 10:16.54 to capture the Indoor State Championship. The girls Distance Medley Relay of Kyleigh Wolf, Brianna Newell, Julie Klaus, and Lily Baker claimed All-State recognition with their fourth-place finish (12:25.51). Also competing for the Bull Dogs at the Hoosier State Relays was Moana Steele in the girls shot put, Liam Milne in the boys 60m hurdles, Neal White and Adler Larson in the boys 3200m, and both the boys’ and girls’ 4x800m relay teams. Qualifying meets held around the state throughout February filled the field in each event for the Hoosier State Relays. The boys and girls will begin their outdoor track and field season at Bloomington South on April 4.
