Track and field team splits squad to compete at Ben Davis and Jeffresonville

May 12, 2025 - Head track and field coach Rick Sluder had to utilize his entire coaching staff on Friday night as his varsity boys and some of the JV boys went to Ben Davis to compete at the Ben Davis Invitational while the remainder of his JV boys joined the entire girls team at Jeffersonville at the Inferno Invitational, which was rescheduled after lightning postponed the meet on Thursday night. The Bull Dogs finished second behind host Ben Davis (115 points) with 62 team points. Mooresville finished third (45), with North Central taking fourth (18). Top varsity event finishers for the boys at the Ben Davis Invitational included 100m Matthew Burge - 4th 200m Josiah Davis - 3rd 400m Benjamin Stevens - 3rd 800m Graham Pumphrey - 1st 1600m Jace Works - 1st 3200m Jonny Klaus - 2nd 110m hurdles Owen Russell - 3rd 300m hurdles Russell - 2nd 4x100m relay - 3rd 4x400m relay - 2nd 4x800m relay - 4th High jump Trenton Turner - 3rd Long jump Tucker Tower - 1st Discus Flint Santi DeLuna - 3rd Shot put Koleton Sinnock - 4th At the Inferno Invitational at Jeffersonville, the Bull Dogs dominated the field, finishing with 223 points, well ahead of second place New Albany (98) in the six-team event. Top finishers for the Bull Dogs included 4x800m relay - 1st 100m hurdles Emerson Chambers - 2nd 100m Mia Nickels - 8th 1600m Macy Eaton - 1st 4x100m relay - 2nd 400m Reece Peeples - 1st 300m hurdles Natalie Rohm - 2nd 800m Emma Lowther - 1st 200m Chambers - 2nd 3200m Kyleigh Wolf - 1st 4x400m relay - 2nd High jump - Emma Haston - 2nd Long jump Sierra Newell - 2nd Discus Gabby Revell - 2nd Shot put - Sydni Schiefer - 1st The boys and girls will both host a dual meet with Franklin Community on Tuesday, May 13, beginning at 5:30 pm.
