May 15, 2025 - Bloomington South entered Wednesday night’s softball matchup with Columbus North with a 10-3 record and were 4-0 in Conference Indiana, hoping to close out a conference title against the 8-10 Bull Dogs. The Dogs, however, had other plans. North knocked off the Panthers 6-1 to stay alive in the hunt for the Conference Indiana title with a 3-1 conference record.. Bailee Scruggs had a pair of hits, including a homerun and four RBI, and scored once to lead the Bull Dog offense. Morgan Jarvis had a triple, and Payton Morris and Avery Sheehan each had RBI for the Bull Dogs. Scruggs also earned the pitching victory, working a complete game and allowing just one run on seven hits. She struck out seven and walked just two in the victory. Scruggs also got help from the defense behind her, who committed only one error. The Panthers took the JV game 3-0. The Bull Dogs (9-10) will play at North Harrison on Saturday, May 17, beginning at 10:00 am and host Jennings County next Tuesday before a trip to Terre Haute South on Wednesday, May 21 with a chance to claim a share of the Conference Indiana title.
