May 17, 2025 - Jack Whaley finally provided the Bull Dogs the timely hit that they’ve been lacking for a couple of weeks. He cleared the bases with a three-run triple in the top of the seventh inning to break a 1-1 tie. Unfortunately for North, Terre Haute got some timely hits of their own in their half of the inning and stole a 6-5 Conference Indiana victory. Dillon Long got the start on the mound for North and tossed six innings of solid baseball. He scattered eight hits, but allowed just one run and one walk while striking out two. Franko Ortega got the ball to start the seventh inning and gave up four runs on three hits in one-third of an inning. Bryson Satterfield gave up another run on two hits before recording an out, and Lane Schrader gave up a hit that scored the game winning run in the final stanza. Brock Kintner had a pair of hits for the Dogs, including a double. Other Bull Dogs hits came from Whaley, Schrader, Ike Genth, and Sam Perry. Perry, Genth, Whaley, Jayce Emmitt, and Kintner all scored for North. On Friday night, the JV team lost 10-0 at Batesville, and the JV (White) team dropped a 5-4 decision at Columbus East. Next up for the Dogs will be a trip to Fishers on Monday, May 19. The JV will host Fishers the same night. Photo: Dillon Long threw six solid innings in a 6-5 Bull Dog loss at Terre Haute South.
