April 7, 2023 - The Bull Dogs could only muster three hit for the game, but they made those hits count as Columbus North held off Decatur Central on the road 3-2 on Friday evening. Tyler Blythe had two of the three hits and scored a run as the Dogs used a three-run fourth inning to sneak by the Hawks. Blake Osbourne got the victory on the mound as he pitched the first three innings, giving up two hits and a walk while striking out five. Ryan Rayburn came on in relief and gave up the two Decatur Central runs before being replaced by Connor Hensley. Hensley threw the last three innings, giving up two hits and striking out three. The JV team dominated the Hawks 17-1 in the sub-varsity game. Jesse Clark got the start and the victory for North (2-0). The varsity team (2-2) will finally get to play at home Saturday afternoon as they host Jeffersonville for a doubleheader beginning at 12:00 noon.
