Boys track and field dominate the field at sectional meet

May 25, 2025 - Columbus North boys track and field tallied 163.5 team points, nearly 70 points ahead of runners up Jennings County (94) and third place finishers, Columbus East (89.5). Hurdler Owen Russell won both the 110m and 300m hurdle races, and Jace Works won both an individual (800m) and relay (4x800m) title as the Dogs won seven of the 16 events in the meet. The pair also teamed with Benjamin Stevens and Graham Pumphrey to win the 4x400m relay. Top Bull Dog performances at the sectional meet included 4x800m relay (Graham Pumphrey, Evan Bense, Neal White, Works) - 1st 8:15.43 110m hurdles: Russell - 1st 15.16 100m: Matt Burge - 2nd 11.36 1600m: Pumphrey - 2nd 4:22.8 4x100m relay (Josiah Davis, Trenton Turner, Gerald Peraltasandoval, Burge) - 1st 44.48 400m: Stevens - 4th 52.86 300m hurdles: Russell - 1st 41.22 800m: Works - 1st 1:57.67 200m: Burge - 3rd 23.48 3200m: White - 2nd 9:22.23 4x400m relay (Stevens, Pumphrey, Russell, Works) - 1st 3:30.65 High Jump: Tucker Tower - 8th 5-06 Pole Vault: Ethan Lovell - T3 9-00 Long Jump: Tower - 2nd 20-05.5 Discus: Gary Streeval - 1st 143-11 Shot Put: Koleton Sinnock - 6th 42-07 The boys regional will be held at Bloomington North on Thursday, May 29, beginning at 6:00 pm.
