May 28, 2025 - Columbus North’s regional semifinal match against Southwestern had to be moved indoors to Tipton Lakes Athletic Club due to wet court conditions, but that didn’t deter the Bull Dogs as they rolled past Southwestern 4-1 to advance to Wednesday night’s regional finals against Jennings County. The Panther advanced with a 4-1 victory over Lawrenceburg in the other regional semifinal match. Aya Saad made quick work of her number one singles match, winning 6-0, 6-0. Not far behind was Lucy Bergman who won her number two singles contest 6-0, 6-2. Annabelle Sun and Nino Akhalaya dropped the first set of their number one doubles match, but settled down and won easily, 6-3, 6-0. The most competitive match of the night came at three singles as Molly Richards fell 6-7(4), 5-7, but the Dogs battled back with a 7-5, 6-1 decision at number two doubles (Lizzie Bodart and Grace Conners). Weather permitting, the Dogs will face Jennings County at 5:30 pm this afternoon for the regional championship. The winner will face the winner of the Center Grove vs Triton Central match, being played at Center Grove.
