May 29, 2025 - Putting two runs on the board in the top of the first inning against Whiteland in the first round of the Columbus East baseball sectional, the Bull Dogs looked like they came ready to play. The Warriors (14-9) then started hitting, and they didn’t stop until a bases loaded single in the bottom of the sixth inning ended the game with a 12-2 Whiteland victory. The Bull Dogs could only muster three hits, one each by Brock Kintner, Jesse Clark, and a triple by Jack Whaley. Kintner and Jayce Emmitt scored the Bull Dogs’ only two runs, and Clark had the only RBI for North. Emmitt got the start on the mound for the Bull Dogs and gave up eight hits and seven runs (six earned) in 2-⅔ innings. Joey Fry came on in relief in the third inning and lasted 2-⅔ innings, allowing five runs on three hits while walking five. Franko Ortega gave up a walk and a hit before the game ended. The Bull Dogs finished their season 7-16 and will lose Jackson Newman, Emmitt, Lane Schrader, and Fry to graduation.
