June 16, 2025 - Nino Akhalaya (left) and Annabelle Sun (right) fell 0-6, 3-6 to Fort Wayne Carroll’s undefeated team of Chloe Ceresa and Riley Glassley in the semifinal round of the IHSAA Girls State Tennis Championships on Saturday, June 14 to finish their season with a 12-7 record. Akhalaya and Sun earned a berth in the State semis with a 6-1, 6-1 victory over Alexa Brotherton and Macy McClure from Adams Central in the quarterfinal round on June 13. Carroll’s Ceresa and Glassley lost their first match of the season in the State Finals against Jasper’s Adaysha Smiley and Reese Mundy. Congratulations to Nino and Annabelle on a fantastic season!
