April 18, 2023 - The Columbus North Unified Track team won five of the six events against Columbus East on a windy, cool day at Columbus North and rolled to a 107-79 victory over the Olympians. Gavin Bayne won the long jump (12-10) and the 100m dash (12.96), and was second in the shot put (28-2.5) to lead North. Noah Marsh won the 400m dash (1:06.55), and both 4x100m relays were victorious. In the boys’ relay, Kayden Foster, Marsh, Bayne, and Sydney Johnson finished in 1:00.23. In the girls’ division, Melissa Milver, Elise Preston, Lydia Andrews, and Morgan Johnson prevailed in 1:34.67. Other highlights for the Bull Dogs included a second place finish in the long jump by Olivia Johnson, a third-place finish by Preston in the 100m dash, and a runner-up finish for Eva Thomas in the 400m dash. On April 13, the Unified Team traveled to Franklin Community for their first meet of the season. A timing system failure kept a team score from being tallied, but highlights for the Bull Dogs included first place finishes by both the boys and girls 4x100m relay teams, second place finishes by Bayne in the long jump and Marsh in the 400m dash, and third place finishes by Nolan Riley in the shot put and Thomas in the 400m dash. The Dogs will host Center Grove on Tuesday, April 25 at 5:30 pm.
