August 19, 2025 - Head boys tennis coach Kendal Hammel’s varsity lineup has lots of new names after losing a number of key seniors last season, but his squad got off to a good start with a 3-2 victory at Plainfield on Monday evening. Jace Branham got the contest started with a 6-4, 6-0 victory at three singles. The Dogs took a 2-0 lead when Luca Devidze and Jaishal Padmanabhan teamed up for a 6-2, 6-4 victory at number two doubles. Plainfield rallied back for victories at one doubles (over North’s Teddy Littrell and Vince Sasse 1-6, 6-4, 3-6) and two singles (over the Bull Dogs’ Max Wei 5-7, 2-6) to even the match. North’s Alek Devidze won his number one singles match 6-2, 7-5 to give the Dogs a 3-2 victory. Next up for the Bull Dogs will be the Jeffersonville Invitational on Friday and Saturday.
