Volleyball sweeps Seymour in opening match

August 20, 2025 - Columbus North volleyball, now under the direction of new head coach Sarah Stair, swept Seymour 3-0 in the varsity match on Tuesday evening in Memorial Gymnasium. All three sets were competitive as the Dogs slipped by the Owls 25-22, 25-19, 25-21. Senior Karen Dutro led the Bull Dogs with eleven kills and six blocks. Elaina Penrod added nine kills and two blocks in the victory. Morgan Osborn recorded three service aces and a team-best 14 digs. Setter Lexi Denny topped the assist category, tallying 31 for the evening along with ten digs and three blocks. Hannah Perry added a pair of aces, and Rori Pollert and Kyndal Wheeler recorded nine and seven digs, respectively. The teams split the early matches, with the Bull Dogs taking the JV match 2-0 and the freshmen falling one set to two. North will be on the road at Shelbyville on Thursday evening for a JV/varsity doubleheader, beginning at 6:00 pm.
