August 22, 2025 - It took the Bull Dogs a few minutes to get warmed up and locked in at Shelbyville Thursday evening, but once they did, they rolled to a 3-1 victory over the Golden Bears, improving to 2-0 for the season. The Bears edged the Bull Dogs 25-23 in a sloppy first set. However, North gained some momentum and rallied for a 25-15 victory in set two. The rest of the match belonged to the Bull Dogs, winning set three 25-15 and the fourth set 25-10 for the 3-1 victory. The JV dominated the opening match 25-7 and 25-18 to improve to 2-0. Shelbyville did not have a freshman team. Morgan Osborn had eleven digs, two assists and recorded five service aces for the varsity squad. Karen Dutro led the Dogs with 15 kills and five blocks. Elaina Penrod added eleven kills and a pair of blocks, and Tania Maldonado recorded nine kills and a block. Sydney Ousley tallied nine kills, and Kyndal Wheeler had four aces. The varsity squad will compete at the Franklin Central Invitational on Saturday (Aug 23) and the JV and varsity will travel to Trinity Lutheran on Tuesday (Aug 26).
