April 21, 2023 - The Columbus North boys and girls track and field teams were a bit short-handed Thursday evening against cross-town rival Columbus East due to illness, injury, and a handful of the top distance runners were at another distance showcase event in Carmel, but the Dogs won both divisions over the Olympians. The boys final was 105-27 and the girls final tally was 76-56. Event winners for the Bull Dogs in the girls division included Kyleigh Wolf in the 1600m and 3200m, Moana Steele in the shot put and discus, Sierra Newell in the pole vault, Lana Wisler in the 800m, and the 4x800m relay. In the boys division, Kelllen Hottell won the 1600m and the 800m, Liam Phillips won the pole vault, Morgan Knapp the high jump, Cole Finney the long jump, Drew Schiefer won the shot put, Liam Milne took the 110m high hurdles, Foster Long won the 400m, Nathan Sparks took first in the 200m, and Jonny Klaus won the 3200m. The Dogs also swept the 4x800m, 4x100m, and 4x400m relays. The track teams will split their squads and compete in both the Talon Relays in Brown County and the Pike Invitational on Saturday morning, April 21.
