Dogs finish third at Franklin Central Volleyball Invitational

August 23, 2025 - Columbus North girls volleyball finished 2-2 at the FC Invite, securing third place among the nine teams competing in the event. North finished 2-0 in the morning pool play with victories over Greensburg (19-25, 25-17, 15-12) and Crawfordsville (25-17, 25-22), earning a spot in the championship pool in the afternoon. The Dogs lost two close matches to the two other teams that finished undefeated in their respective morning pools. North fell in three sets to host Franklin Central (25-21, 22-25, 11-15) and then in two to Pendleton Heights (21-25, 19-25), to move to 4-2 for the season. Karen Dutro had 30 kills, 14 blocks, 13 digs, and five aces for the tournament. Tania Maldonado recorded 23 kills and a pair of blocks, while Lexi Denny topped the Dogs with 65 assists to go along with 39 digs. Morgan Osborn tallied the most digs, with 54 and led North with seven service aces.. Rori Pollert and Hannah Perry had 33 and 26 digs, respectively. The Bull Dogs will travel to Trinity Lutheran for a JV/varsity doubleheader on Tuesday, August 26, beginning at 6:00 pm.
