Busy weekend for Bull Dog track and field teams

April 23, 2023 - The Columbus North track and field teams split their squads and competed in two different events on Saturday, April 22. Part of each team traveled to Brown County to compete in the Talon Relays while the remainder of each squad took part in the Pike Invitational. At the Talon Relays, the girls team finished first and the boys team finished fourth. The girls 131 points came in part from event victories by Natalie Rohm in the 100m hurdles, and Kenzie Pendleton, Macy Eaton, Kenzie Meyer, and Ainsley Sherlock in the 4x1600m relay. Also winning events for the Bull Dogs were Meyer, Jessica Meza, Eaton, and Pendleton in the distance medley relay, as well as Mia Nickles and Kallie McCain in the partner pole vault. In the boys division, Wyatt Clark won the pole vault, while Damien Dixon, Frankie Polyak, Evan Bense, and Luke Chandler won the 4x1600m relay for North. The Pike Invitational saw North finish fifth in both the boys and girls divisions. Top-three finishers for the boys team included Foster Long (3rd in 400m), Akot Tong (2nd in 800m), Neal White (2nd in 1600m), Adler Larson (1st in 3200m), and Larson, Will Russell, Mateo Mendez, and Kellen Hottell (1st in 4x800m relay). Top-three finishers for the girls included Julia Kiesler (2nd in 1600m), Kyleigh Wolf (1st in 3200m), Lily Baker, Julie Klaus, Kiesler, and Carys Glyn-Jones (1st in 4x800m relay), and Moanna Steele (2nd in shot put and 3rd in discus). The Bull Dogs will travel to East Central for a dual meet on Tuesday, April 25, beginning at 6:00 pm.
